Welcome to the OCCULT page.( Careful!! You might accidentally sell your soul! )
Well, congratulations! You have found my Oh-So-Secret page devoted to Magick and Occultism. (It wasn't *that* difficult to find, was it??)I suppose now that you know the awful truth, you might think ill of me. Go ahead. I have been called worse things by people both worse & better than you. No matter. This page isn't meant for the judgemental (judge-"mental").
If you don't like the fact that I am involved with esoteric subjects, might I suggest you stop breathing and save the Earth's precious oxygen for the rest of us who actually use our brains to THINK ??......
WAKE UP!!
Why did I create this page? (No, it was not to confound my 'new age' touchy-feely hairy-fairy readers...although that would be great!)
I created this page to address something that is seriously WRONG with Western Magick today. In a few words, I can sum it up as such:
Magick, as it is practiced today is loaded with ERRORS.
I pull no punches here. Magick is fucked up with grievous errors that persist even to this day.
I will deal with only ONE of these errors for now.
THE PROBLEM
The ONE faux pas of most urgent concern is a persistent, intentional error that just keeps getting promulgated over the centuries by one dumb occult author after another who never had the sense to question anything they ever read or were told by the so-called "Magickal Authorities".
Their glaring oversight makes one wonder if they would question an authoritative source if it said that you can shove food up your ass and shit out of your mouth?? (South Park, anyone?).
Few authors in occult publishing have ever caught on to this problem. Perhaps the first (and most famous) is the magus Franz Bardon.If it were not for his publishing a small correction on the subject, I wonder if anyone up to the present day would ever have questioned the old "traditional" teachings, even though its error is obvious to anyone with half a brain.
This error has been rarely addressed by anyone in the field of magickal print. I can only assume this is the result of few authors ever bothering to question traditional teachings. Even when I was introduced to the old traditional teaching many years ago, I immediately thought it strange. And I only know of three sources other than myself who have ever written of this ancient error.
This error of which I speak is centered in the mistaken association of the 4 ancient magical elements (Fire, Water, Air, & Earth) to their corresponding “magical tools” or “weapons” (Swords, Cups, Wands & Pentacles), which are graphically depicted as the 4 “suits” of the Tarot. Open any old or modern book on magic or Tarot and you will find this persistent error, this faulty traditional association as listed here:
Fire = Wands
Water = Cups
Air = Swords
Earth = Pentacles
Everyone who knows their Tarot cards recognizes this as the traditional elemental associations for the 4 suits of the Minor Arcana. What everyone does not know is that these are wrong, have always been wrong, and will forever be, until the end of all time, wrong, wrong, wrong!
THE SOLUTION
Here then are the Correct associations.
Fire = Swords
Water = Cups
Air = Wands
Earth = Pentacles
As you can see, the only difference is that the elemental associations for Fire and Air have been switched. “The only difference”…but what a huge difference it makes!
THE INEVITABLE BACKLASH
I am sure the traditionalists will howl and moan like the dogs of doom, trumpeting their disapproval. “You can't defy tradition! You cannot alter traditional teachings! You can't possibly think you know better!?” In answer to such baseless criticism, I say “Yes I can! Yes I can! Yes I can!”
Let the foolish traditionalists bleat like the ignorant sheep they truly are. Such brain-dead zombies should keep their mouths shut. They shall never possess the Keys to the Truth.
They never think for themselves nor do they ever question anything at all, much less the very thing they cling to…tradition. I delight in busting useless paradigms. ("Hail Eris!! All hail Discordia!!") A new age is upon us, and this new age is demanding that we question our musty old traditions, correct glaring mistakes, and unshackle ourselves from the long dead corpses of “accepted teachings” whose birth should never have been allowed. I cannot resist exposing this ancient error to which so many in the Western Magical Tradition cling to like so many old bones. Truth demands that I expose it. I am sick of mindless, ill informed authors who proudly and pretentiously proclaim and persistently perpetuate preposterous profundities masked as “truth”. The time has come for these pathetic, pompous, preachy, pontificates to go the way of the dinosaur. One who stays put will have grass growing over his foot. And in the name of Truth, I gladly step on old toes.
WHY THE ERROR ??
Anyone who has studied the Mysteries will certainly know that the Teachers of the Path would often engage in the practice of intentionally confounding and deliberately altering otherwise correct information, all in an effort to make their students learn to question and think for themselves, to prevent them from becoming a horde of mindless robots, parroting whatever “the teacher says”. This practice of intentional confusion is an ancient and effective teaching practice. And yet nearly every magical author in the history of book printing has either unwittingly or deliberately continued this practice of confusion and obfuscation at least when it concerns elemental associations of Tarot suits.
And this oversight, being intentional or unwitting on their part (my bet is on the latter) has persisted in both generating entire generations of ill informed magical practitioners as wells as influencing an overabundance of magical authors for a century who have kept promulgating the same drivel as all of the other ignorant authors before them.
SOME ADVICE
Dr. Timothy Leary gave us five little words that could revolutionize world consciousness. He wisely advised us to, “Think for yourself. Question authority.”
When I was exposed to the "traditional" magickal teachings, I intuitively recognized some bullshit. Since I possess a brain, I decided to use my gray matter to think for myself, question the authority of tradition, and use mental muscle to determine the Truth. It is time for today's magickians and occultists at all levels of spiritual aptitude to do the same. If so, they all may come to realize the same Truth I (and few others) have also discovered.
I do not pretend to be infallible, of course. But my confidence in this matter is incredibly strong, for many reasons, but if for no other reason than that no one has been able to prove to me beyond any reasonable doubt that the traditional elemental associations are correct. Until that day comes (I won't hold my breath...), I stand by my statements on this matter. And if I am ever proven wrong, then so be it.
But at least I could proclaim that I was not a zombie.
